Maxillofacial Prosthetics is a dental specialty that requires at least four years of university and hospital residency following dental school. By definition, it is the art and science of functional and cosmetic rehabilitation with non-living substitutes of those regions of the face, jaws, or tongue that are missing or defective.

There are several categories of patients who can be helped by a Maxillofacial Prosthodontist, which are:

  • Post-surgical head and neck cancer patients who require prosthesis for speech or swallowing rehabilitation.
  • Patients born with congenital oral or facial defects.
  • Patients who have had traumatic injuries to the face or jaws.

At our office, we specialize in the management of these patients, starting with the early diagnosis of dental/oral disease, to the completion of care, including close, long-term follow-up. Our referral base is from surgeons, radiation oncologists, and medical oncologists, throughout the state and beyond.
